Launch of 60th Anniversary

St. Charles Minor Seminary,Tamale was established in 1953 in Wiaga in the Builsa District of the Northern Region by the Missionaries of Africa (White Father).The launch of the 60th anniversary was done today in grand style a with many Old Boys in attendance including the Metropolitan Arch Bishop of Tamale and the Bishop of Damongo.


Bishop Naameh in his address said that Catholic education seeks to instil in students some level of religious and social responsibility and thus urged that the current number of one thousand, one hundred and four be slashed to five hundred to enable for quality turn out. He said that if the Government is assisting the school does not mean they should run and control the affairs of school administration since it,s still a catholic institution and explained that the Catholic Bishops confab will soon come out with and official MOU with government regarding Church -Government educational partnership.
He also pleaded with the Director of Education and Deputy Regional Ministers who were both present to ensure that student populations are commensurate with infrastructural developments since the present situation in the school with regard to student teacher ration and other infracstructural imbalances do not augur well for quality education.
